Amteck Completes NETA QEMC and QEMW Certification Program, Reinforcing Leadership in Electrical Preventive Maintenance and Safety

[Lexington, KY — March 12, 2026] Amteck, a nationally recognized electrical contractor and an EC&M Top 50 Electrical Contractor, has completed the NETA Qualified Electrical Equipment Maintenance Company (QEMC) and Qualified Electrical Equipment Maintenance Worker (QEMW) certification program, further strengthening its position as an industry leader in electrical preventive maintenance and safety.

The NETA QEMC and QEMW program was established in direct support of the ANSI‑approved NFPA 70B Standard, which makes proper electrical equipment maintenance mandatory and enforceable. The program provides third‑party verification that electrical maintenance companies and their workers meet rigorous requirements for experience, training, safety, and technical competency.

Amteck’s participation in the program builds upon an already robust electrical preventive maintenance program that aligns with NFPA 70B requirements and has long been a cornerstone of the company’s approach to protecting client facilities, equipment, and personnel.

A minimum number of company‑employed, qualified electrical maintenance workers

In addition, Amteck employees earned QEMW designation by successfully passing NETA’s qualification exam, which validates knowledge and expertise in performing routine electrical equipment maintenance services that support the requirements of NFPA 70B.

[LEXINGTON, KY, November 4, 2024]—On Friday, November 1st, Amteck, LLC, the top electrical contractor in Kentucky, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Blue Grass Airport to unveil its latest project: the installation of nine level 2 electric vehicle (EV) chargers at the rental pickup/return lot. Key stakeholders, including Blue Grass Airport President and CEO, Eric Frankl, Amteck President, Corey Bard, Councilmembers James Brown, Dave Sevigny, and Whitney Baxter, and VisitLex Director of Destination Stewardship, Arin Arnold-Davis, were in attendance to celebrate this milestone and partnership.

The newly installed ChargePoint CP6000 chargers, known for their advanced technology, provide seamless charging experiences with intuitive software and reliable hardware. These features will not only maximize charging efficiency but also ensure that Blue Grass Airport is ready to meet the evolving needs of the growing EV market. With the option to add up to 12 more chargers in the future, the airport is positioned to accommodate increased demand as tourism and traveler numbers rise.

Lexington, KY – May 21st – Yesterday marked a significant milestone as Amteck, a leading electrical contractor based in Lexington, KY, officially partnered with the United States Army through the Partnership for Youth Success (PAYS) program. This collaboration aims to provide transitioning soldiers with enhanced employment opportunities, ensuring a smoother transition from military to civilian life.

The ceremony, hosted by the Kentucky Army National Guard, commenced with a warm welcome from the narrator, followed by the singing of the National Anthem by Ms. Mary Shaftner. Attendees were then seated as the event proceeded with an introduction to the PAYS program.

The PAYS program is a strategic initiative that links the U.S. Army with a diverse array of private industry, academic institutions, and government agencies. It guarantees participating soldiers and cadets five job interviews, significantly improving their employment prospects post-service. Today’s partnership was solidified through a Memorandum of Agreement, signed by Major General Haldane B. Lamberton, the Adjutant General of Kentucky, and Daren Turner, CEO of Amteck.

The ceremony recognized several distinguished guests, including Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton, escorted by her husband MG (Retired) Charlie Gorton, Mr. Stephen Marks, Director of Veterans Outreach for Congressman Andy Barr, LFUCG council members Baxter, Brown, Sevigny, and Sheehan.

Major General Lamberton, who has an impressive military career spanning over 35 years with numerous operational deployments and prestigious qualifications, delivered remarks highlighting the importance of this partnership. He emphasized the benefits that the PAYS program brings to both soldiers and participating organizations like Amteck.

Following General Lamberton, Mr. Daren Turner shared insights into his journey with Amteck, from working alongside his father, to leading the company through significant growth and innovation. Turner expressed his commitment to maintaining Amteck’s core values while supporting veterans through this new partnership.

Mr. Lorne Smith, Executive Vice President of Amteck and a veteran with a 32-year military career, also addressed the attendees, emphasizing the alignment between military discipline and the electrical contracting industry.

Mayor Linda Gorton also expressed the city’s support for this partnership and its positive impact on the local community. She emphasized the value that veterans bring in their communities and she is excited to advocate for more organizations to join the PaYS program.

Amteck Graduates Seven Apprentices

LEXINGTON, KY

Today, Lexington-based Amteck celebrated the successful completion of their Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program by seven individuals. The four-year program requires thousands of hours of course work and on-the-job training. After they graduate, participants are prepared to take a state licensure exam to become journeymen electricians.

The graduation ceremony took place at Amteck headquarters and opened with words from Vice President of People Operations, Cassidy Marchiano. Amteck President, Corey Bard then congratulated the graduates for their accomplishments. Kentucky Labor Cabinet Secretary Jamie Link then shared his thoughts on behalf of the state of Kentucky: “I strongly believe that high-quality, registered apprenticeship programs, like the one at Amteck, will provide long-term, positive impacts for our state, for employers, and for Kentucky workers and their families.” The graduates were awarded certificates and plaques, along with several gifts from Amteck and its partners.

Corey Bard voiced his optimism for this class of apprentices: “We’re incredibly proud of the hardworking people who have completed the program this year. Amteck’s apprenticeship program is integral to our future as we develop a workforce that excels in our industry. Our future gets brighter every time we graduate new apprentices, and that’s never been more true than it has been for this class.”

Following the ceremony, graduates, family members, and attendees were invited to a catered lunch. Amteck and Francis Energy Partnership Breaks Ground on Second NEVI Site in Ohio

LEXINGTON, KY, March 1, 2024 | On Thursday, February 29^th, 2024, Electrical contractor, Amteck, along with representatives from Francis Energy, Drive Ohio, SK Signet, and Casey’s Retail Company celebrated a groundbreaking of the future site of Ohio’s next NEVI site. The location will two provide fast charging EV stations, further expanding infrastructure for the growing number of electric vehicle drivers in the Buckeye State.

Amteck has been performing EV infrastructure work for years, but this is their first partnership with Francis Energy. Amteck’s EV Solutions Manager, Curtis Rogers stated, “We’re really excited that these NEVI projects are taking off. We want to be the first to help provide a foundation to an electrified future. It all starts with locations like this one.” Although Cridersville, OH is a small, rural community, it is located less than 1 mile from US I-75. “Pretty soon, you’ll see more and more of these fast-charging sites pop up along major US highways. Until then, people who drive EVs will need to plan their cross-country trips very carefully,” remarked Rogers. The team from SK Signet related to that difficulty. They drove an EV from their offices in Washington DC to the Cridersville location–a distance of nearly 500 miles. “In a couple of years, I think you’ll see a lot less range anxiety,” Rogers said.

The Cridersville NEVI site is located at a Casey’s General Store. The retail gas and grocery chain has made extensive efforts to provide EV charging at their locations. Although this will be their first foray into the NEVI program, the company currently boasts more than 36 EV stations–most of which have fast-charging.

Amteck leadership is looking to the future. As mentioned above, NEVI sites are not the only fast charging stations being constructed. Some gaps will be filled by the US Department of Transportations Discretionary Grant Program, which establishes publicly accessible EV charging beyond Interstates and within communities where people live and work. The private sector has also been installing fast chargers for nearly a decade now. Amteck has managed installations of EV charging stations for a wide range of clients including Tesla, Marriott Hotels, Ford dealerships, Amazon distribution centers and more. “We’re excited,” stated Lorne Smith, Executive Vice President of Amteck, “We are looking forward to doing more of these anywhere and everywhere they are needed.”
